SUMMARY:

July 31 is the main day of the Ichapekene Piesta which means Great Festival, and is the largest celebration of the city of San Ignacio de Moxos in Bolivia, in honor of its patron saint San Ignacio de Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus , who died on this day in the year 1556.

The festival was declared in 2012 Cultural and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
